Barefoot in the park

After dropping Mrs Rex off at Waverley Statiion I had an hour or so to wander around Princes Street Gardens checking out the carnival for the opening of the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival. It's just one long festival in Edinburgh these days and it reminded me just how glad I am not to have to work in the City Centre any more. The place was hoaching*, and that's on a Sunday no less.

Left the madness behind to return home in time to see Les Bleus win the World Cup. Felt sorry for Croatia in the manner they lost the first two goals. I reckon there is a FIFA conspiracy not to allow any nation with a population of fewer than 5 million to win the competition. That explains why Scotland hasn't won it, obvs...
