The Smell of Fresh Paint...

...was completely absent, although U and A have been working away the last three weeks to transfer the green house into a stylish grey house. (The original colour was no longer available.)
To celebrate the completion of that job they went out and played a round of golf, and then invited us and two other friends to a delicious dinner of barbequed salmon.
As part of a very sociable and hospitable pair U is very welcoming, as you can see here. I also like the picture because his shirt seems such a good match with the clear blue sky.
While on the subject of that CLEAR blue sky, it actually rained today. After a lot of thundery fuss the sky finally opened and it rained for about thirty minutes.  At times it was really hard rain with some of those huge drops that make me worry about the plants in the garden, but everything seems to have survived and is undoubtably happy to have had a drink.
