Library branches

This tree outside the library has lost its bark and is really white. It was gleaming in the lunchtime sunshine as I passed today. I don't know if it's doing the tree much good, but it's a bonny sight.

The library - in an early 19th century building called Castellau House - is on a steep incline, so the wonkiness is not all my fault! The council keeps the flowerbeds outside it looking pretty good. Our boys don't like it when the seasons change, though, as they think the gardeners removing the old stuff are "plant killers". I've tried to explain that bedding plants are short term and probably get composted, but the guys don't like this idea. Which is just as well, really, considering the lack of attention that our own garden gets.
