A time for everything

Out for lunch

Had lunch with my friend E. today. We were supposed to meet last Wednesday, but rescheduled due to the weather. Then the 1-3 inches of snow they forecast for yesterday turned into 9 inches (!), at least in our area - we seemed to get the worst of it - so I thought we would be rescheduling again. But the sun was shining and E said she had to go out anyway, so we decided to go ahead. The main road near us was fine, and I could have taken that all the way, but I decided to get on the interstate which wasn't a wise move, as the interstate still wasn't in very good shape - in fact as I was driving, a car spun out on the other carriageway. Anyway we both made it OK and enjoyed a good lunch together and by the time we left, with the help of the sun, conditions were improving. I decided to stop at Glenwood Gardens on the way back and went for a walk - I was surprised to find that they had cleared the inner loop already. I'm really annoyed though as I somehow lost my lens cap - at one point I foolishly put it in my pocket and I'm not sure whether I pulled it out with something or it just got knocked off, which has happened before - that's been a criticism I've had, that it gets knocked off too easily. I realised before I got back to the car and retraced my steps but with no luck. If it had fallen on the path, I expect I would have heard it, which means it probably fell when I stepped off the path onto the snow to take a picture.
