What a game!
Quite an eventful day, all in all. I had three workmen lined up to visit, two plumbers and a man to do the back step. Our idea to move the washing machine from the kitchen (larder) to a big cupboard across the hallway is proving to be not impossible, but very difficult, and very expensive. We have abandoned it.
Another chap came to give a quote on a new boiler, and very efficient they were too. Quite timely, because it did its 'no hot water' trick again this evening. It's time has come.
My step man didn’t come, though he texted to say so - some emergency at home. Which left me to watch the Federer/Anderson game in peace. And what a game it was! I've always switched over to watch a different game when Fed is on - his games are just too one-sided. But not this one. Well done Kev!
Also been in touch with the chap trying to draw up designs for the new bathroom - taking out the bath which is never used. But there are so many regulations about how much space is needed around a toilet, that we've decided to forget it. Less bother. Less mess. And saving heaps of money. Let's have a river cruise instead.
JR and Archie went a big walk, then we had quick bbq in the first fresh air I’ve had all day, then back in to watch the football, along with the rest of the country. Well, maybe not Scotland...
But yes - good luck England!
