I drove past this a few weeks ago but had others with me and couldn't stop. We were on our way to North Wales to visit a wool shop and didn't want any delays!!
The bee has always been the symbol of Manchester and there has been a huge increase in street art since the terrible event in our city on 22 May 2017.
This is a much grittier image than others I have seen and certainly seems to give a nod towards the industrial revolution, the original reason why Manchester is represented by the bee. After a quick Google search, I found out that this image by Qubek references the Manchester Ship Canal. Now I know that, I can actually see the images of the mills and factories on the banks of the canal. It's amazing how everything can come into focus once you have a little missing piece of information.
Starting to blip has certainly made me raise my gaze as I want to make sure I'm not missing anything during the day. Now I'm also going to have to look behind things too, as my extra blip taught me today. An added bonus I wasn't expecting!
Quote for today:
This is Manchester, we do things differently here.
