Silver
Although I've visited Llandudno's Great Orme many times, particularly in my youth, I'd never knowingly come across the Silver-studded Blue, a sub species of which has a healthy population there.
Climbing up to the Orme (extra) from the station I soon found one to add to my life list, along with Grayling (extra) and Dark Green Fritillary (extra) for my year list. During a couple of hours I also came across Meadow Brown, Ringlet, Red Admiral, Large and Small White, Six and Five-spot Burnet, Small Heath, Antler Moth and Silver-Y and a possible Brown Argus.
I could have stayed up there all day, but I also had a football match to attend, a pre-season fixture between Llandudno Fc of the Welsh Premier League and Whitchurch Alport of the North West Counties which had been brought forward by a couple of hours to avoid clashing with the World Cup match. The Shropshire team nicked it with the only goal of the game.
I then spent another couple of hours revisiting Llandudno landmarks before taking and train and bus back to my Mum's.
