Another Trip to the Museum

Three of us returned to the Marshall Fredericks Museum today at Saginaw Valley University. He was a sculptor that had some Michigan roots.

It's fun to see the sculptures, and it's interesting to discover how the statues go from an idea to the final piece.

His most well known pieces are The Fountain of Life in Cleveland, Ohio, the Spirit of Detroit in Detroit, Michigan, and The Cross in the Woods in Indian River, Michigan. (It is a giant 31 foot crucifix.)

In what other museum can you find Jesus, Winston Churchill, and John F. Kennedy?
