Broad centurion soldierfly

I'd have liked a ruby-tailed wasp, particularly when my sister said they've been roaming round the house. But this little guy is almost as pretty and I think I have the right ID after a bit of hunting.

We've had a lovely few hours chasing hoverflies out of the house ;) ♥
