It has been a day of some drama in the politics of Brexit Britain, with leaked news of an expected judgment from the Electoral Commission confirming the Leave campaign broke the law. The news came from the BBC, collaborating with the Leave campaign to get their position on the judgment out into the news before the judgment itself was issued. Dirty money…

In Scotland, the news was all about allegations of the Conservative Party breaking election law during the 2017 Westminster election. Dirty money… 

This comes after allegations at the start of the week about Farage using insider knowledge on the night of the Brexit referendum to help hedge funds make monumental amounts of money on fluctuations in the value of Sterling that night. The allegation is he publicly conceded defeat in the late evening whilst knowing from private opinion polls that Leave should win. The pound rose in response to his announcement, and then crashed when the result came out. The hedge funds knew how to place their bets.

At work, we got on with the day job. Overgrown hedges and trees. Illegal and inconsiderate parking. Dog bites and seagull attacks. 

I did get away from the office briefly to inspect something a constituent was complaining about. As we thought, her expectations are unrealistic. We will take up her case, and do our best anyway. 

The site inspection got me a Blip - the town’s Art Deco 1930s fire station.
