Cooling off!

Very hot today, 22deg in the afternoon, must be the hottest yet!  Ollie spent the morning going for dips in the sea to cool off, then spent the afternoon in the house, out of the sun, while I went and helped H.  

We were picking stones off one of the fields and gathering them in the tractor bucket.  Back breaking work, and exhausting in the heat, so we didn't stick at it for too long!  We went for a ride on Willow and Holly, but they and us found it just too hot, and the flies were hellish.  Nimbus and Sprite, we rode inside.  Lazy riding, headcollars only, and lots of fun jumping.  Nim is now 23 but is still full of go, and she loves to jump - preferably as fast as she can!

Fresh, warm strawberries from the garden for tea!  I don't think I've ever had ones so early before. They are new plants, and not quite as tasty as the old ones I chucked out, but still so much better than shop bought!
