Some final...
...jumps on this faithful old trampoline. We worked out that it was 10 years old last Christmas. Aunty Gill and Uncle Paul helped a sciatica ridden MrR build it on a cold Christmas Eve, while a heavily pregnant with the Fangler me...wandered round bedrooms trying to make sure the Barmy Army, as was then, were not wakened by the banging and the whole Santa and surprise elements were shattered.
Es has subsequently told us she was wakened by it’s construction and that Santa bringing a trampoline was a step too far, even for Santa, and this started her 7 year old self into the descent of non-believer!
Moving on though it has been used constantly over those ten years by ALL the Barmy Army and the Mammy too on occasion.
Now 17 year old Es can be found out on it faithfully regardless of season, time of day, weather. In the winter months she will go missing and we will find her up lit by the illumination off her mobile phone, earphones in, bouncing on the trampoline.
A while back a weld went on one of the legs...it’s still useable but could be stronger and safer. The big boys and the Mammy haven’t used it since.
The wee fella asked if a new one could be purchased and an internet search on Saturday morning found a replacement on Gumtree available in Leven.
So we headed across there this evening and picked it up...MrR will build it tomorrow. It’s a bit bigger...
Grateful for the service and fun this old and faithful trampoline has given. Thank-you.
