Matices de crepusculo - twilight shades of colour
There had been severe storms and hail elsewhere in Sydney, although they didn't reach us. But we did get some pretty dramatic clouds at sunset. At one stage the sky was full of huge and wildly billowing bright orange cumulus and of course I took many photos. But as the spectacular sunset began to fade, it softened into scenes like this one - my favourite of all this evening's shots because of the subtle and not so subtle shades and gradations of colour.
There's a Spanish word for this - matiz (plural matices) - and I'm currently preparing to do a concert with my choir, El Coro, and a latin american group called Trio Matiz.
