Another busy day today. There don't seem to be any other kind at the moment. Not one school event but two. At two different schools!!
After work and walking Archie it was time to get Miss L for swimming* and then hot foot it back to Miss E"s school for her drama club's performance of Alice in Wonderland. They've been practising loads over the last few weeks and it was really lovely to watch. Miss E was one of six story tellers and - in my completely objective and unbiased opinion - she was by far the best!! She was the most animated, enthusiastic and joyful! She loved every minute.
From there we dashed to Miss L's school for her Welcome to Year 4 presentation. Miss E left in Year 3 so we're into uncharted territory!!
It was pretty much a waste of time as they said they weren't going to let us know who the class teachers were for each class until they told the children on transition day on July 3rd. That's all I really cared about!
Miss L was upset because they said they were mixing up the classes and after the meeting asked me really sadly why they were doing it. I told her I didn't know and why doesn't she go and ask the head teacher?
I meant it rhetorically really but bless her she went and queued and waited until the head had finished speaking to another parent and asked her!!
She got a waffly meaningless answer with assurances that they'd make sure that friends weren't separated. Why can't they just leave things alone??????
Then it was home to slump on the sofa and take comfort from the fact that  in less than two weeks all this craziness will be over and we can just do nothing!!

*When I say get Miss L for swimming I actually mean pick up Miss L early from school as usual but with no intention of going swimming because there wasn't time before the performance. Miss L could barely contain her giggles as we sneaked out of school for our sneaky illicit early departure for no reason!!!! She thought it was the funniest thing in the world!!
