It’s a tough life...

The river here is so nice, it changes from hour to hour. Today we caught up on some jobs ( washing ) then met Ferna and another ex work mate to tour the Wentworth Gaol. It’s great having a local along...Stephen had to go to the Gaol for school lessons when they ran out of classrooms. He had a job painting it too at one time. I found a great recipe which I will include as an extra, no wonder the locals often spent time inside for unruly behaviour. The main reason women were incarcerated was because they, Salvation Army women, were locked up for singing songs of praise on the streets. Maybe they sing like me.

After that we went to the pub for lunch. The Captain Sturt. He (Sturt) arrived here in 1830 and found the confluence of the Darling and Murray Rivers.
