Woodpecker

Another lovely family day with the midday main meal here. With the grandchildren growing and their varying appetites, I find it very difficult to judge quantities - I shall be eating leftovers for the rest of the week..... :))

I didn't get out with my camera until I was on my way to church this evening - by which time it had started to rain a little. I did have a jacket in the car, so I dutifully protected the camera with it but didn't bother at all about myself. It was rather nice to feel and smell the rain after so much dry, hot weather! All of my images are appallingly grainy - this was the best of them, with noise reduction applied..... The highlight of my brief stop was seeing (albeit very briefly and at a distance) the silhouette of a little owl that a friend had alerted me to. I'm so pleased I saw it, even if I didn't get any photos. Maybe another day.....
