Our favourite dog walk
The sun had come out, church was over for the day, the 2 big kids have gone on a school band tour, the dogs needed a bath and we needed a walk.
So here he is young Mr A, watching the dogs rush repeatedly through river and undergrowth in a desperate, yet utterly futile, attempt to catch themselves a rabbit. And here am I, enjoying the moment of calm.
It didn't start calmly; the big kids had to be at school by 4am for a 4.15am departure to the airport, and I was woken by Mr E running frantically through the house shouting "get up! It's 4.10am!!!" Ugh, that is the worst way to wake up, isn't it?
They were 99% packed so we rushed into the car and arrived at 4.20am, which is some kind of miracle!
It's a pity Mr E shoved his little brother's shoes in his bag instead of his own ... but the problem of how he will avoid hobbling onto the stage with his euphonium is not in my hands.
.... and the muddy dogs are now clean and slightly more fragrant.
