Quarter time

Not a great photo on a damp and murky Saturday. What I wanted to show was the evidence of three, not two teams on the field.

The third huddle is the umpire team including my youngest , with 4 boundary umpires, 3 field umpires and 2 goal umpires. Each set a specialist on their own rules. After a couple of months of enforced watching, I am coming to an appreciation of the game, even with those huge "under" 19s.

I have also gained 2.5 precious hours of solitude in the car to knit, occasionally watch the action, dream, write and now to read the set books for a course I will start in August. Thank goodness for keep-cups of warm tea and blankets over my knees!
