End of Season Show

Another hot day..........cloudless clear sky, except for the smoke rising from the fire on Winter Hill that is!

Walkes to town fairly early whilst it was coolish.......had coffee and an early brunch as we had skipped breakfast.

Came back, spent the afternoon in the garden, in and out of the shade, it was soo hot!! I was deadheading the plants that have finished flowering in an attempt to tidy the garden, its looking a little sorry for itself, despite us watering it, sparingly of course. Some plants have scorched leaves, others have lost their green colour, the lawn looks like a zebra, with pale golden stripes above the areas where we had land drains put in a few years back!

A light tea of grilled seabass and salad, before we headed off to pick up daughter and go to watch Emily in her End of Season Cheerleading Show & Presentation Evening.

As you can imagine, the room was like a sauna, but the children didnt seem worried at all. Treated us all to some great routines. Their young tutor announced that she has just secured space for her own purpose built gym area within a large old mill that has just been redeveloped. Season 3 will see them have twice the floor area, with a padded floor for tumbling etc. which the girls all seem delighted about!

My blip is of Emily mid routine.....smiling as usual, a clear sign that she loves it! Ive added a couple of extras, one just after she had received her certificate and medal for "most improved" student, which after just four months, delighted her and us of course, with her proud Dad :-)

Hub and I left them to it around 9.45........much cooler outisde by this time, the drive home was heaven!

A cold G&T when we got back followed by the first episode in the new series of The Affair........as good as ever!

We have a lovely breeze tonight, so hopefully a reasonable nights sleep :-)
