Jaws of steel!

This morning I caught this wasp gathering nest material...from an old bamboo cane.
It was very focused on what it was doing, and actually made some headway!
I lifted a bit more of the "lawn" and also forayed into my shed/workbook, which had a resident rat during the winter, it seems.
Well it isn't there now, but the damage to the plaster board is. It had been living among the heating pipes, and had dragged garden fleece, plastic film and carpet fluff in there for its nest.
The nest has been removed, and rat poison laid.
