Going Up!

Our very own Grand Design

Our project is coming along. Now nearly at the end of Week 4. It is amazing how fast the builders can dig foundations, lay drains, lay bricks, knock out walls and now start building the roof. We have to admire how professional and hard working they are. Lounardo cannot believe how diligent and relentless they are! There is a lesson here for us 'knowledge workers'. If only we were so focused and just got on with the job of being creative and constructive. Sometimes we spend all our time being destructive as we are trained to look at everything with critical eyes.

We are hoping the weather holds and progress is maintained. The bathroom now only has half a wall and it will not be long before we are 'bathroomless'. We will be unclean!! - or will really find out who our friends are :)

We also had a mole in the hole yesterday. Am amazing Thunderbird like device that tunnels under the ground in order to lay pipes. Out goes our ancient lead pipes and in comes wonderful polyurethane. We now have water pressure !! and hopefully will regain our sanity moins lead poisoning...

Will see what tomorrow brings - hopefully more roof beams.
