Sue Foll's picture of the day

By POD2008

A small corner of my world

Heat and tiredness kind of got the better of me today, so I stayed in and sorted out the last of my father's transparencies from storage. He died in December 2009.

He was the one who got me into photography. During the holidays we used to get up before dawn and watch the fishing boats landing at Pittenweem. His pictures are excellent.

Dad would never dream of taking a picture like this but there it is, times move on.

In hot weather I keep the main blinds down, shielding my south facing room from the sun. The two small windows facing east and west have plants growing in them, my cucumbers casting shadows on the wall above the fireplace .

The pot last on the right never grew and I never got around to removing it.

On the left a hand thrown pot made my a man called John Masterson who lives in Herfordshire. On top of it an egg made out of olive wood from Bethlehem. My cleaner always tilts it sideways when she tidies the mantelpiece. I kind of like it that way.

Have a great weekend everyone.
