In Memoriam

David Stirling, the founder of the SAS, has his memorial on a hillside between Dunblane and Doune.
I cannot imagine a better memorial or a better position - just perfect!
Had a touch of wallet-ache this morning. The "Silver Machine" went in for its MOT yesterday and we were advised that a cracked coil spring needed immediate action. When we were advised that the car was ready this morning, we toddled down to collect it. The garage advised that they had also needed to replace two brake pads which were almost down to the metal. Then came the "Oops" moment - apparently, during the work, the windscreen had been cracked. It really isn't bad but does need fixing urgently. So, the old girl will be returning to the garage next week for re-glazing. At least I will not be paying for that work!
