Doodlebug
Another dreary day, weather-wise. So, in the absence of a decent blip-scene, I have settled for a train type blip.
This is a "Doodlebug", a powered motor coach which was popular on American railroads in the early years of the 20th century. Economic to run and a flexible load carrier, they were powered by a gas (petrol) engine which turned a generator to supply axle mounted electric motors.
Many lasted right through to the 40's with engines converted to diesel for safety and extra economy but they were a real lifeline for rural America for many years.
For the interested one or two, mine is "N" gauge and has here stopped at Hillside station depot.
