2018 Tuesday — Hat Talk

As we walked the shoreline near the pier late this afternoon, we were about to pass a couple of people when they turned and acknowledged our three pups. They told us they were from the Sacramento region of our state — about a 5 1/2 hour drive — and they had not brought their pup (a Ladbradoodle) with them. So they were having puppy withdrawal.

As we spoke we learned their names were Rebecca & David and they had been married 11 years and I think they said they have 2 sons, but Mr. Fun thinks maybe they have 3 sons. I met their oldest; Aidan.

They noticed my hat; the “Campus By the Sea” hat is what I was wearing. They said they have friends from their church who have gone to family camps there. David said he’d never been to the camp, but Rebecca said as a teenager she had been there with a “youth for Christ” group. Again I was amazed at the far-reaching influence of the camp and the way that it connects people.
