South Bank Skateboarder
We had a leisurely morning, breakfasting together before said our goodbyes and my friend and I headed to Covent Garden to enjoy our second coffee of the day sitting outside watching the world go by in Covent Garden.
Then to Somerset House where there was a special installation involving mirrors and water spray. From the right angle on a sunny day, a halo appears. You can see it in today's blip and extra for my b&w journal here! Neither of us had been to Somerset House before, so it was a lovely new discovery for us!
Finally, we crossed the Thames and headed back towards Waterloo, wandering along the South Bank (where my blip was taken) and then making a slight detour, so that we could take in Leake Street. I always enjoy popping in there because the work by the street artists is constantly changing, so there is always something new to see!
And then to catch the train, having (thankfully) first picked up a 'meal deal' to consume on our journey. We settled ourselves in a steaming hot carriage.... and that's when the day went a bit wrong. The train was delayed by two hours because of a fire somewhere down the track. This, on the hottest day of the year!!! It was a very long, sticky, hot two hours....... we'd manage to choose the only carriage where the air-conditioning wasn't working! Happily, we did get to our respective homes safely eventually.....
I ended the day, sitting outside, watching the sun go down, with a glass of white wine in my hand - my sense of well-being restored!
Thank you so much for all the great comments, stars and hearts for yesterday's UB40 blip!
Ann :))
