Guilfoyle's Volcano
We've had a lovely day today and spent most of it with CCN's son Sid. Our day was based around suggestions from Big Al. My big brother spends a lot of time in Melbourne, in particular in January when the Australian Tennis is on. I'm always happy to follow Al's lead because I know how much he enjoys being in this amazing city. We started off at a wonderful restaurant - Entrecôte near the Domain Gardens. It was just delightful and it was nice for us to spend some quiet time with Sid. Just across the road from the restaurant is an outstanding area of the Botanic Gardens known as Guilfoyle's Volcano. Now I love Cactus, but this is unbelievable. The garden was created way back in 1876 and was used to store water for Melbourne's gardens. It has recently been restored and is a work of art. It has inspired me to go home and do something special with our tiny cactus garden at Wombat Hollow!! Oh, please check out the extra :)
