Kellingley Colliery, No.1 Shaft, Man Riding Cages.

Power in the Valley is a project that I've been working on for the past three years trying to cover the demise of the Coal Industry in the Aire Valley.

In this photo, you can see an image from the first site covered in this project, Kellingley Colliery, North Yorkshire. It shows the man riding cages located underneath the No.1 Headstock used by the miners to reach the colliery bottom to begin work.
