Bugs

I had been reading an article about the plague of ladybirds that appeared in the UK in the hot summer of 1976 only to find myself completely covered in black flies during my parkrun this week.

I travelled to Southend and was blessed with a flat course and a bit of a breeze as it was a very hot morning and shadeless route.

The breeze was not however enough to keep the bugs away and I had to be particularly careful to keep my mouth closed as I ran.

Mr RIU was, once again, my driver for the day. He was also not impressed by the bugs although they liked the colour of my T-Shirt more.
