The One That Got Away

As we were driving home from the supermarket today, we saw something fluttering around. Then it landed on the windscreen and I could see quite clearly that it was a White Letter Hairstreak, a butterfly which I've only ever seen in books and photos. It remained on the windscreen all the way home - I wondered if it was trapped in a cobweb - and I'd imagined gleefully that I'd be able to get a photo before releasing it. The minute Mr PB turned off the engine, it flew off into the sky.
Oh well, at least this frog peeped out from under a stone to provide an alternative blip.
