CannyScot's Day

Tarn Hows

A bright sunny day

We visited the National Trust area known as Tarn Hows. It is near Coniston, and is a beautiful area. There were once three small Tarns and then they were flooded to create one larger Tarn. It is just under 2 miles walk with stunning views all round. All helped by it being a glorious day.

Later we visited the lovely village of Coniston and the lake which bears its name. The area is well know for its association with Sir Donald Campbell who sadly lost his life in a fated world water speed attempt.
