Heat of the day

We stayed at Betaille last night after a very busy day getting the garden tidied in Lentillac.  The reason we stayed over was to ensure that we were there on time for the man to install the telephone line, the texts from the colourful company said that he would be there between 8 and 9.  He wasn't, of course, he turned up around 10.30.  We worked outside all morning, barrowing away soil and muck that had accumulated over the years at the rear of the house, then power hosing.  We went next door to see the neighbours new dog and, whilst we were over there, the telephone engineer finished and the electrician working in our house signed off his work sheet.  I wish I had been there to check.  The line comes in through the window frame, which will cause us difficulty when we get the new windows fitted.  Also, the junction box is mounted at a very odd angle and he made a real mess and did not even attempt to clear up.  Grrrr!  After lunch we worked a little longer, but the temperature was climbing.  So we walked down to the shop for ice cream, finding the temperature at 37 degrees.
