At Symonds Yat
The expedition today was down to the Wye, what beauty. We parked at Ye Old Ferrie Inn, then walked to one of the river's two last ancient hand ferries (there used to be 25 of them - the ferryman pulls you across using an overhead rope) to cross, walked beside the rapids, where we had a BLT and watermelon picnic. And then retraced our steps and had drinks on the tables outside the Inn, while the kids played with sticks in the water (which Zion said was the best part of the day).
