Powderham Castle

Along with a group from our village, I visited Powderham Castle today. It's the family home of the Earl and Countess of Devon. You may have seen it featured on TV recently in a documentary with Mary Berry, Country House Secrets.  The Earl and Countess have two young children. She was an American actress, and they met in a bar in Los Angeles when he was over there playing rugby - sounds very familiar?
Anyway - they came over in the documentary as a lovely family, so it was a pleasure to visit their gaff. 
The castle is set on the banks of the Exe Estuary and there is also a large deer park, Rose Garden, and enormous grounds, and it is all very beautiful.
