Windy Point Restaurant
Today it is my view of the Windy Point Restaurant, near the Secret Garden door, and next to the spot where I blipped the sunset on November 3rd! All within a couple of hundred metres of each other.
We went to see if the secret garden door was open today, but no luck. OK so it was on to Windy Point to do a blip of the well-known restaurant at the lookout. Several other blippers have asked if this iconic restaurant is still in business, so here it is mid afternoon before any diners have arrived.
You can see through the lower level to the gum trees on the other side of The Café provides a more informal atmosphere (read affordable prices).
The Upper Restaurant is formal, and a place where you really need to have your credit cards with you! Both restaurants offer 180° views where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic vistas, sweeping from the beaches of St Vincents Gulf to the Adelaide Hills.
See the scene in LARGE.
The wellknown owner, Bill Sparr, recently died after a long battle with cancer. He opened this restaurant around 25 years ago and it has become one of our premier and most popular eating places in Adelaide.
