Baby Cardinal

We've had lots of bird activity in the yard, including adults feeding their babies, but I'm having a difficult time capturing the activity with the poor lighting conditions.  The sun is bright, but the canopy of leaves creates a lot of shade, or dappled sunlight.  Fortunately, this little one was out in the open. Hmmm, I wonder if it's a male or female.
