Pumping water

The garden is so dry, so far only 0.3mm of rain in June.
Being on a meter means it was going to be seriously expensive using the mains so I rigged up the pump and started emptying the stream!
Performance was disappointing to say the least so I stripped the pump down, removed the mechanical seal and relapped the seat and rotary face.
Now pumps like a good 'un and I reckon we've put in excess of 3000 litres of water on the garden.
The level in the stream is unchanged.
