The dropped stitch

The Swan

Storm gone, and by the afternoon the day was bright and sunny.

It began with dinasaur games before breakfast. Freya was very bouncy and excited because her nursery class had a trip to Trondra Farm today. It seems no time since I was organising a trip there for her mother and the rest of the local playgroup kids. (probably 26 years ago!)

I started work in Lerwick and headed west late morning.
After lunch, as I was passing her road end, I called in to see if Janet was around for a cup of tea. She was home, and better still, keen to join me for the afternoon. Lots of jobs ticked off and then a couple of social calls.

We came across the Swan moored at the small pier in Walls. It's a beautifully restored Shetland fishing boat, built in Lerwick in 1900. Now used for trips round Shetland and beyond.
