Diary of an Edinburgher

Three dogs on AstroTurf

Gym ✖️

Well, Valda, our visitor eventually arrived from King's Cross. A quick taxi ride with a very vocal Scotsman who thought he was a comedian (he wasn’t) and then a long late delicious dinner.

Breakfasted and out quite early this morning - I accompanied our guest to the Royal Yacht Britannia, a long held wish of hers. And apart from the nightmare trip on the top front (overheated) seat on the bus across town which took forever, we had a lovely time. I've been before, years ago, but I was happy to go again. I especially liked seeing the staff quarters - they lived like wee moles. Though, to be fair, the Royal quarters weren’t exactly lavish either.

Back home and we went up the hill to meet Bailey and her mum. A blustery walk indeed. But Archie and Bailey had a good run around.

We spent too long up the hill, and it was all hands on deck to assemble the nibbles in time for G&Ts with Rufus and his mum. Bailey and her mum came too. We had the obligatory three doggie photo session, but only one obliged this time. Thanks, Ruf.

We had a very jolly afternoon tasting the new gin that Valda had brought with her. Nice.

I think it might be an early night for me. I'm stuffed.
