Well...

It nearly worked.

I went up to the woods to find a good gloomy November shot because I have a poem I want to share, but it needs the right image. Unfortunately the trees/leaves etc. were far too colourful, beautiful and cheerful for what I wanted. (will stick some on Flickr shortly).

The fungi were in evidence despite it not being a great season for them so far. Too wet I think. As I was planning on something other than macro I didn't take the trusty torches and my macro lens with me so.... I flipped up the flash, stuck the lens under the cap and fired the flash over the top. Worked ok I think. I might try again tomorrow with the right kit though :)
