Oslo and its fjord

Everybody has gone by the time I drag myself out of bed. I'm in no hurry to get started today, and thankful for it.

I arrange to meet Jon in Oslo for lunch. My attempts at organisation are ham-fisted. I've turned off notification on my phone in an attempt to further conserve that most precious of resources, attention, with the consequent effect that I no longer know what's going on.  We agree to meet outside the conference he's attending.

I take the train into Oslo, but as I emerge from Oslo S I realise that I've left my wallet in the car in Asker. A quick call to Austin saves embarrassment as he lends me a card for the day, while he goes off to deliver his workshop at the conference.

Jon and I head up to Ekerbergrestaurant for the view. It's pizza and coke for both of us. We discuss an emerging idea, which takes a more definite form over lunch as we discuss use cases, the implications of various design decisions, and how all this fits into the sometimes competing value systems of deliberate practice and mega-scale corporate training. It's an exciting idea, and we resolve to push it far enough to at least determine whether we have a good sense of what "minimum" and "viable" might mean in this context.
