Hidden away
This morning we left the B&B early to take the car back to the rental company, and then fly to Iceland. Fairly long and drawn out process of leaving the car Gatwick South terminal, then a shuttle to Gatwick north. Actually, we were there before the check in. Had a coffee, and then checked in. More sitting around, this time having gone through customs (now called Border Control). Basically quite straight forward. Not a long flight to Iceland, followed by a bus to Reykjavík, and the a shuttle van to the hotel where we are staying.
By this time it was quite late so we went to a nearby restaurant and had very tasty lamb fillet for which I chose a glass of a Matua Pinot noir (a NZ red.) the outside of the building is plain and gives no indication that behind the external door (open on the right of the entry) is a grand wooden door, taking us into a fascinating variety of angles, nooks and different rooms.
The conference starts tomorrow afternoon.
