horns of wilmington's cow

Really, really nice walk today, out along Achnahaird Bay, with the Sea Thrift singing out, and around an up-and-down coastal peninsula route that never lost interest. Though granted there were no otters. But the wildlife count is already pretty high for a first day of a trip.

Fortunately the Rabbie's coach that appeared where we parked to start the work was merely temporarily disgorging, so the walk was carried out in almost perfect isolation (about a mile and a bit from the end we came across a little beach and had it to ourselves for a paddle (when does a paddle become wading?) for half an hour, before a group of 6, all bearing binoculars, arrived as we were thinking of carrying on anyway).

And all the while with cracking views of the surrounding mountains, with Suilven in the extras.

Kinda liking this place so far.
