Raspberry Surprise
Despite a hard frost last night, a look out the window this morning revealed a thick bank of cloud lying over the south of Arran blocking out any potential sunrise. No point dashing out with the camera but worth keeping an eye on the sky in case things changed.
Brushed teeth then looked outside - still cloudy. Shaved and looked out - cloud thicker and no trace of any colour. Shower and dressed - blimey the clouds have gone raspberry red! Where did that come from? Dashed downstairs, got wellies on, grabbed camera and ran outside.
The red clouds covered a relatively small area of the sky where the sun was rising, so some zoom was necessary to fill the viewfinder with colour. The red lasted no more than a minute before the clouds went grey again.
The cold air over the relatively warm water produced some rather nice mist in front of the Point. However, the Gulls and Curlews weren't flying in front of the red sky as I would have liked, instead keeping low and at a distance.
A pleasant surprise to start the day!
