My car doesn’t exist

I bought this car last September. Today I tried to get insurance for Tom so we can share the driving back from Newcastle now Uni has finished. It turns out my car doesn’t exist. Or rather the DVLA shows the plates against a VW Polo not my Ford Focus. So I have been driving around with the wrong number plates for 9 months...
