Ivy flowers and tiny midge
A backblip from yesterday, Sunday, as we were busy with DIY last night. One of the few plants to flower in our garden over the winter is ivy. The flower buds are just beginning to open now. They provide a late nectar source for the surviving insects still a-wing in the garden, as with the tiny midge perched on top of one of these flowers. It was so small that I could barely make the camera focus on it (my eyes rather than the phone camera lens!).
