An endless day of good things

A shock to the system this morning with a 6am alarm awakening. I can definitely tell it's been a holiday when I need an alarm clock to wake me up! Biked down to Radio Shropshire in early morning sunshine to talk through the Sunday papers. Maybe it's an age thing (it's totally an age thing) but I'm really learning to love local radio.

A beautiful ride back in glorious sunshine in time for a second breakfast before church. So thankful for a lovely local church with an awesome vicar who is sensitive to the Holy Spirit and bold enough to let him lead. A good time in church today.

Lunch time, a quick car wash and bike wash and a good chat with neighbour Becky and then another lovely ride, taking the long and scenic route into town. A quick mooch around town, an art purchase for the house from a pop up shop and then a look in at the river festival. Arrived in time to see the duck race start. Hilarity.

A walk home with SS and then straight round to the cricket club to meet Grace and some other new neighbours from Leighton Park who bought us drinks and told us stories.

Back to Number 19 for a BBQ with Grace who has just come back from a week in Malaysia. Before too long Phil and Gilly had popped over for a drink and talk wedding plans. So excited. We tried to blag invites but we're already on the list! Late night chats as the sun went down.

It's just been the best day. One of the hardest things about leaving Zambia five years ago was leaving the ease of community, but it's felt a bit like that today. So grateful.
