Culture Day
We hopped on the Metro towards town and after a breakfast of crepes, raspberries and ice cream we headed off to the Senate Gardens. Fabulously ornate buildings with Prague castle dominating the sky line. The front of the Senate had some beautiful murals (see extra) which extended right across the interior of the roof.
Then we stopped in the Wallenstein gardens for another wander before heading off to the Karel Zeman museum. He was a Czech film maker who specialised in superb special effects and animation dating from the 1940s.
A swift beer for lunch then on to the John Lennon Wall, basically a shrine to peace. It is a large wall with his image (extra 2) which had snippets of his lyrics painted on it, but sadly has become just another graffiti covered wall. Still draws large crowds though
We then walked down an an extremely narrow alleyway to a bar at the bottom next to the river. The alley is about one person wide and there is traffic light system to control the flow of pedestrians! Another beer here then we headed back to the Metro and home again.
