world in a grain of sand

challenges

we struggled down to Bristol through snow and floods. We had to divert at Tetbury as only landrovers were getting through a particuarly deep one.
We had a lovely, warming lunch at the farm cafe, I had cornish hake. They're very hot on handwashing and R is keen to avail herself at every sink.

Later, we drove out to the cricket club for a firework display. I'd had to reverse what felt like miles down a double parked street to let traffic through in the opposite direction, but the cars behind me wouldn't back up. The driver coming the other way got out to negotiate - luckily he was very nice and they did move. When we got to the cricket club, the fireworks were cancelled.
