Banded Demoiselle

After a chat with a financial adviser, I headed out for coffee and the weekly shop. Grabbing some lunch I headed back via Hawley Meadows, another of the open space and nature reserves along the Blackwater River.

I enjoyed my lunch watching the damelflies flitting around the river and adjacent grassland. I then took a stroll with the intent of getting some close-up shots.  Next time, perhaps someone can remind me that a white T shirt is probably not the best attire for stalking insects! I eventually managed to catch this specimen.
